'Heather' - Handmade Original Lino Print

Heather is an evergreen, flowering plant that grows in the form of a low shrub. Its name Calluna vulgaris likely refers to the Greek 'Kallyno' which means to beautify or sweep clean. This perhaps points to its traditional use in the brush of a besom or broom. Heather is closely associated with Scotland, and its captivating Highlands where it is common. This bee and butterfly-friendly plant is also said to bring good luck!

To create this piece I hand-carved my own design into a lino block. I print with black oil-based ink onto 160 gsm A4 paper using my homemade press that has googly eyes, then I burnish by hand! After drying, I finish my prints off by proudly stamping on the Glyph Art logo and signing on the reverse side. I then package the piece up safely and send it on its way to you!

Prints are available framed or unframed. The frames are black with mountboard and glass, they are able to be stood up or hung on a wall. The frames measure 32.5 cm (12 and 7/8 inches) in height, 23.7cm (9 and 3/8 inches) in width and 3.4cm (1 and 3/8 inches) in depth.
